EVART – Josh Johnson has been keeping busy with the sports scene at Evart but is also anxious to get his hands on a fish pole very soon.

Johnson is a teacher and baseball coach at Evart and also does the public address announcing at the football games.

“I haven’t done a whole lot,” he said. “I’ve been wanting to go and do a lot of fishing. I did a lot of fall salmon fishing. But that’s pretty much done now. It wasn’t that great for me. I didn’t have too many successful trips. A couple of friends got a few. I go to the lake.

“A lot of guys do good in the river. I like to be in my boat. You don’t have to fight the crowds when you’re in your own boat. That’s what I like to do. Walleye and steelhead fishing should start to get pretty good here.”

Johnson also enjoys bow hunting.

“If it’s not a good night to bow hunt, I’ll be fishing,” he said. “With bow hunting. You have to have favorable winds.”
