MANITOWOC COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Manitowoc Sheriff’s Office says the search for a missing duck hunter has been unsuccessful.

The hunter has been identified as 29-year-old Joshua A. Lueptow of Manitowoc.

On Thursday, at about 3:21 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office was called to the Manitowoc River in the Collins Marsh Wildlife Area off West Quarry Road in the Town of Rockland.

Rescue teams from Manitowoc and Calumet Counties were joined by the Department of Natural Resources. They searched the area by ground, boat and air, for the last three days, but did not find Lueptow. Foul play is not suspected, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Officials are calling off the search unless new information is discovered.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking hunters visiting the Manitowoc River to be extra vigilant and notify the Manitowoc Sheriff’s Office if they see anything out of the ordinary.

If you have information, call the Sheriff’s Office at (920) 683-4201.
