A renewed search for a missing Chaffee County woman, led by the missing woman’s brother, turned up several pieces of possible evidence, according to the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office and other team members of the Suzanne Morphew Missing Person Investigative Task Force, including the FBI and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, will continue to “follow-up to determine if there is any connection to Suzanne’s disappearance,” according to a news release. The sheriff’s office did not detail the discoveries.

The latest search effort started Thursday and ended Tuesday. The search, which included volunteers from across the country, was led by Andrew Moorman, of Indiana, who raised more than $12,000 on GoFundMe, from 280 donors, to fund the effort.

Law enforcement members over the past few days responded three times to reports of human remains trained dogs “alerting” on three separate Chaffee County properties. None of the properties belong to a Morphew family member, according to the release, and all three of the dog alerts came up empty.

Local, state and federal investigators remain committed to the case, said Sheriff John Spezze.

“The level of commitment from the entire team from the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, CBI and FBI investigators is unprecedented and unparalleled,” Spezze said in the release. “While the public may not see all of the effort being put forth in this case, I can assure the community that this investigation continues to move forward.”

Morphew went missing from the Maysville area on May 10.
