Fisherman shot in the head: Attackers allegedly wore tactical gear | Loop Trinidad & Tobago - Loop News Trinidad & Tobago

Police are investigating after fisherman Ronnie Ramsawak was brutally gunned down in the second of two attempts by gunmen wearing what appeared to be tactical uniforms.

Loop News was told that Ramsawak, of Bay Road, Othaheite, South Oropouche, was found on the roadway near the Timital Public Cemetery off San Francique Road, with a gunshot wound to the arm around 10:15 am.

Residents in the area notified the police and paramedics.

However, just as a good Samaritan opted to take Ramsawak to the San Fernando General Hospital, a red vehicle then pulled up.

Witnesses said four men wearing grey and blue uniforms, similar to tactical wear, alighted from the vehicle and allegedly shot at Ramsawak again.

Ramsawak attempted to flee the scene but was shot in the head.

The suspects then fled.

A team of officers led by ASP Mathura, Insp Corrie, and Cpl Sookoo responded, however, Ramsawak succumbed to his wounds.

Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Region III are continuing investigations.

More on this as it becomes available.
