Bukalapak CEO Asks Public to not Misinterpret His Tweet - Tempo.co English

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bukalapak CEO and founder Achmad Zaky asked the public not to misinterpret his controversial tweet that sparked controversy, and resulted in the #uninstallbukalapak hashtag.

Zaky expressed that his Twitter post commenting on Industry 4.0 and 'new president' was referring to the future president-elect, either Prabowo or Jokowi.

"[What I meant with] the new president can mean anyone, it can also refer to Pak Jokowi too," Zaky said. "Don't misinterpret it, let's fight for innovation budget," Zakytweeted on February 13, 2019.

According to Zaky, the tweet and his comparison of research and development budgets of various countries, was intended to remind stakeholders that in the next 20 to 50 years, Indonesia must invest in developing highly qualified human resources and in research and development.
