RIVERVIEW, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says deputies are searching for a homicide suspect after two people were shot early Monday morning in Riverview.
According to deputies, a female victim died at the scene. The second victim was taken to the hospital, their condition is unknown at this time.
Deputies say the female victim suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body. According to deputies, it appears at this time that the victims and the suspect knew each other.
The sheriff's office says the shooting happened in the 13000 block of Clement Pride Boulevard around 4 a.m.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic adult male, approximately 20-years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and black shorts.
The sheriff's office says the man may be traveling on foot and may be armed. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 813-247-8200 or if they see anything suspicious.
"This person is potentially armed, and I'm urging anyone who sees a person matching this description to not approach him and call us immediately," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "Anyone with information about what happened here earlier this morning is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200."
