Suspect Barricaded in San Jose Residence: Police - NBC Bay Area

San Jose police on Monday were dealing with a barricaded suspect at a residence on Millar Avenue, the department said.

Homes in the area were evacuated, police said in a tweet just after 6 p.m.

Officers are now in the process of dealing with the barricaded suspect at a residence on Millar Av. We have conducted evacuations of surrounding homes. Please avoid the area, street closures still in place.

This comes hours after police shut down roads in the area to search for an armed man.

The man fled from officers on foot, police said. A handgun was seen in his waistband.
