Merced County Sheriff's Office Seeks Public's Help for Information on Missing Fisherman - Sierra Sun Times

January 24, 2022 - The Merced County Sheriff's Office reports on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at approximately 2:47pm, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of the California Aqueduct near the intersections of Ortigalita Road and Mervel Avenue in the Los Banos in regards to a possible drowning.

Amado Miranda,39,  was fishing along the Aqueduct when he lost his footing and fell in the water. He was last seen approximately 300 yards south of his initial point of entry into the water.

The Merced County Sheriff's Office Dive Team was called to the area and began rescue and recovery operations looking for Miranda.
