The Carbon County coroner on Saturday identified the ice fisherman whose body was recovered from Beltzville Lake as 70-year-old William Shipe.
Shipe lived in the Bethlehem-area, Coroner Robert Miller Jr. said. Public records show an address for him in Lower Saucon Township.
Divers recovered Shipe’s body about 11 a.m. Friday near where his ice fishing gear had been found Thursday on the partially frozen lake near the Preachers Camp boat launch in Beltzville State Park.
The cause and manner of death were pending an autopsy being conducted Saturday morning, Miller said.
