ROLLINSFORD -- An unidentified 6-year-old, missing since Saturday afternoon was recovered in the Salmon Falls River and transported to Mass General Hospital.
According to police, they received a report of a missing child, last seen in the area of the Bicentennial boat launch at Scoutland Road.
On arrival police learned the child might be in the Salmon Falls River. They immediately called in Rollinsford Fire Department, York Ambulance, South Berwick Police and Fire, New Hampshire State Police, New Hampshire Fish and Game, New Hampshire Marine Patrol and Strafford County Sheriff’s Office.
The child was located, unresponsive, in the river after an extensive search by land, water and air. He was taken to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and then transported to Mass. General in Boston.
No further details on the child’s condition was immediately available.
