NORTH PLATTE, NEB. (KNOP)- Social distancing is not an issue for Kent Priel these days, who spends a lot of his time out on the water.

A Nebraska native his entire life, Kent has been fishing since his days in high school and even saw spent some time in the professional ranks.
"The bass fishing started just out of high school in the late 70's and in the late 90's it took a big turn and I started fishing a little more professionally", said Priel.
While he no longer fishes at a professional level, you can still find Kent out on the water in his 21 foot-long boat. As a member of an adult bass master club, Kent and his club members participate in lots of single day fishing tournaments both locally and across the state.
Kent is hoping to grow the high school club, something he has been a driving force of over the years and is seeing it grow in popularity right before his eyes.
"They are looking for high school members, anywhere from eighth grade to seniors. Any kids out there that are interested in bass fishing can get in touch with me and I can send them in the right direction."
